A guided visit to Ħaġar Qim archaeological park, a World Heritage Site by UNESCO
Gertrude
I will meet you at the entrance of the visitor’s centre. You can reach the site by car, by bus 74 from Valletta terminus or also by taxi. The entrance ticket is not included in the price. The tickets cost €10 for adults and €7.50 for seniors and children. The visit will start at the introductory centre and by watching a short 3D show. We will then go on site. There are 2 sites to visit one kilometre apart. On each site 2-3 temples to visit. These are amongst the oldest free standing temples in the world and the oldest equinox oriented constructions on the planet dating back to between 3600 BC and 3000 BC. I will take you through the hypotheses of different archaeologists to help you form an opinion about these sites and gain a deeper understanding of how this civilization was able to construct such magnificent heritage without having written language or access to metallic tools. This is an excellent tour to do with your children while being outdoors in the countryside near the sea. The tour usually costs €120 that needs to be paid in cash and takes approximately two hours.
