The Llama & Alpaca Experience

The adventure begins at the MachuQolqa Viewpoint, a privileged area offering impressive views of the valley, the mountains, and the entire archaeological complex. There, you will meet your guide and assistants, along with the charming and furry friends who will accompany you on this journey. The trail descends through a beautiful eucalyptus forest, providing a peaceful walk surrounded by nature. As you pass through the community of Racchi Ayllu, you will observe the authentic daily life of the locals as they guide their donkeys, herd their sheep, and care for their pigs. Upon arriving at Andean Colors, you will reward your llamas and alpacas by feeding them fresh grass. You will also be able to interact with the rest of the herd, offering you excellent photo opportunities. To conclude your adventure, you will learn about the artisanal weaving process that sustains the world-famous Peruvian textiles. This ancestral practice has been passed down from generation to generation and represents the soul of Andean Colors.
