Our company offers guided tours of the traditional olive grove of Delphi, along with an olive oil tasting experience. It is the largest continuous olive grove in the Balkans which is protected by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The grove spans 67,000 hectares and includes approximately 1.2 million olive trees. The first olive trees were planted around 2,500 years ago. The program we usually follow is the following: Olive Grove & Olive Oil Experience Scenic Introduction (20–25 minutes) After leaving Delphi, the group meets on the road to Itea at a panoramic viewpoint. From here, visitors enjoy breathtaking views of the ancient olive grove, the Gulf of Corinth, and the Peloponnese (ideal photography stop). At this point, we present the history and cultural importance of the olive grove, which is one of the largest continuous olive groves in the Mediterranean. Walk Through the Olive Grove (30–40 minutes) We then descend into the grove itself to see centuries-old olive trees up close. Guests learn about traditional and modern methods of cultivation, the seasonal cycle of the olive tree and harvesting practices. From October to January, participants may also take part in harvesting activity in the traditional way by spreading a cloth under the tree and collecting olives by hand.
