My tour reveals parts of the historic city that you might otherwise miss when touring by coach. This walking tour takes you through 2000 years of incredible history - Ancient Roman times to Medieval Splits and Modern day Split. During our walk, we shall see; - The waterfront area known as Riva Harbour & its promenade called Riva Promenada - The courtyard or peristyle within the palace walls (Peristil) - Vestibule entrance hall inside the palace complex (Vestibulum Palatii) - Cathedral Church dedicated to St Duje also knowns as the Cathedral of Trogir (Katedrala Svetog Duje / Katedrala sv. Domnius) - Temple built for worshiping God Jupiter (Hram Jupitera/Jupiter Tempel) - A grand archway serving as an impressive gateway leading up towards the old town center (Zlatna vrata/Golden gate) - Grgur Ninski statue which is one of Croatia's most famous statues located on Pjaca square - Main public gathering place where people meet today – it was once used for markets during Middle Ages (Pjaca main square) - Venetian Fortress situated near Ovocni trg (Fruit market).
