Kibera is the largest slum in Africa and one of the largest in the world. The purpose of organising this experience is to allow our visitors to gain insight into the lifestyle of the local community, while also generating revenue through bookings that help pay for school supplies and tuition costs for orphaned or disadvantaged children within the slums. Fifty percent (50%) of each reservation charge directly benefits the community. Our guiding team consists of four members who grew up right here in these same streets. The tour includes five key destinations; 1. Office Introduction - I'll start by welcoming everyone at our tidy and secure offices before providing some background information on what they may expect throughout their time with us today. 2. Craft Centre – Here participants observe artisans transforming recycled goods into beautiful jewellery pieces along with various handcrafted products. 3. Open Air Market Tour – Visitors have the opportunity to explore the bustling marketplace frequented by residents shopping for affordable secondhand merchandise. 4. Residential Area Visits – Next stop involves visiting homes representative of typical housing conditions found across the settlement area so tourists understand better daily lives lived there. 5. Café Stop – A brief respite awaits all attendees followed by refreshments including locally sourced beverages & snacks whilst learning even more fascinating facts regarding everyday existence amidst such challenging circumstances. Please note that although certain elements remain consistent due to logistical reasons associated primarily safety concerns specific locations might change without prior notice but overall itinerary remains largely unchanged allowing maximum flexibility according guest preferences interests if possible beforehand communicated clearly upfront when making reservations arrangements ahead schedule date set forth hereinabove mentioned above paragraph below... And remember, it’s important not forget mention customization options available upon request should any particular aspect align less well desired expectations initially outlined!
