Orangutan Borneo Pangkalanbun Tour.
To see orangutans by klotok, 3 days/2 nights with a local company in Kumai, Pangkalanbun Tanjung Putting.
Day 1:
Airport or hotel - Port - Tanjung Harapan Camp - Proboscis monkey - Night trek - Klotok.
Pick-up by your tour guide or our staff at the airport.
Travel to Kumai port approximately 20 minutes. Meet a crew that escorts you to the Tanjung Putting National Park area, entering a river named Sungai Sekonyer. Enjoy views of the Nipah palm trees during lunch on board the klotok boat.
Cruise for approx. two hours until reaching the first campsite known as Tanjung Harapan. Time to observe the orangutan feeding session starts at 3pm. Walk for roughly 25 mins to arrive at the designated spot for observing these amazing creatures being fed. On the way back to the klotok, take advantage of tea break viewing over the Seruyan River before taking another leisure evening stroll. As we traverse across the river, make a brief stopover near nighttime walking trail location. Here there are opportunities to witness bioluminescent fungi, Tarantula spiders, snakes along with other nocturnal wildlife; however feel free to opt out should anyone experience animal phobia concerns. Dinner serves aboard the klotok after which attendants prepare beds complete with nets & blankets inside each vessel ready for rest overnight whilst listening to sounds of nature all around us accompanied by aroma of fresh brewed Indonesian coffee waiting upon waking up next morning marking beginning of new adventure amidst wilderness surroundings.
Day 2:
Klotok – Pondok Tanggui – Camp Leakey – Klotok
This day includes visiting additional orangutan food distribution points. The cook prepares early bird breakfasts onboard today.
