Program Overview Amani Hostel invites passionate individuals from around the world to participate in our Volunteer Program—a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful change while experiencing the rich culture and vibrant landscapes of Arusha, the tourism capital of Africa. We offer placements in four key sectors: Education, Environmental Conservation, Healthcare, and Community Development. Projects run year-round. 1. Education Development Initiative Objective: Enhance access to quality foundational education for children in underserved communities. Detailed Itinerary Day 1: Lake Manyara Game Drive. Devote full day in the lake Manyara National Park; game drive, watching hippos in the pool, giraffe, elephants, buffaloes and flamingos in the lake, then drive to Lake Manyara Hotel/Figi Lodge (budget) for dinner and overnight Day 2: Lake Eyasi Hadza Culture Tour. Breakfast and then drive to Lake Eyasi on a very rough trail for 2 hours’ drive; the road circumnavigates the Ngorongoro crater and head south west to Mongola Village; have a contact to local tribesmen and impression of Barabaig –Hadza-San tribes. Camping at Chemchem (water spring) near the village of Mongola. It is fairly basic. Day 3: Walking with Hadza in Lake Eyasi Bush. Very early morning you’ll drive to the dwellings of the famous Hadzabe tribe. Day 4: Drive back to Arusha. After leave-taking to the village tribesmen; start driving back to Arusha with short stay at Makuyuni-Mto wa Mbu.
DAY 1: Depart from your hotel in Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park at 9:00 AM; enjoy lunch at the park with a packed lunch. In the afternoon, go on a game viewing drive known for its famous tree-climbing lions as well as the large flocks of flamingoes. Return to your campsite for dinner and an overnight stay at the Panorama campsite. DAY 2: After breakfast, head to Serengeti National Park with picnic lunch boxes. Enjoy a game drive along the way through Olduvai Gorge where you will receive a lesson about prehistoric times. Then have dinner and spend the night at the Seronera campsite located inside Serengeti National Park. DAY 3: In the morning after breakfast, take part in a game drive at Serengeti National Park, famed for cheetahs, lions, leopards, among others. Have lunch using provided boxes before returning for dinner and spending another night at the Simba campsite. DAY 4: Enjoy breakfast followed by a full-day game drive down the crater floor that's popular for seeing Black Rhinos. After satisfying this experience, make our way back to Arusha. Price:$600 per person when shared amongst four people traveling together in a single safari Land Cruiser 4x4 vehicle equipped with all wheel drive capabilities. Day 1: Arusha to Serengeti National Park. An early morning drive to Serengeti via Ngorongoro Crater. Drive through Karatu town into the heartland of the Ngorongoro Highlands. Arrive at Ngorongoro Main Gate between 8am - 11am. Then pass by Ngorongoro crater view points. Arrive in Serengeti Naabi Gate between 12pm - 3pm. Have lunch at Naabi Gate. Afterwards, proceed to our camp site in Seronera whilst enjoying an evening game drive. We arrive at the camping sites around 5pm/6pm. Spend overnight here. Day 2. Serengeti Game drive to Simba Campsite. A very early start for a game drive within the Serengeti's Seronera region; enjoy watching the sun rise over Africa during the safari experience before heading back to the campsite for brunch at 10:30am. Following brunch we have another short game drive enroute to prepare ourselves for departure towards Naabi Serengeti gate. Continue the game drive along the way until arrival at Simba Campsite located right on the edge of the famous Ngorongoro Crater Rim. Our estimated arrival will be sometime between 5pm and 6pm. Stay overnight at Simba Campsite. Day 3. Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha Town. Have a light breakfast served promptly at 6:30am prior to descend down approximately 600 meters inside this spectacular volcanic caldera where we embark upon a full day’s wildlife adventure lasting about four to six hours. Enjoy either having lunch near the crater floor or alternatively choose to dine comfortably at the nearby campground based entirely on personal preferences. Finally depart toward Arusha town after dropping everyone off at their desired locations beforehand. Day 01: Arusha - Serengeti National Park (half a day) Distance: 400 km Duration: 6–3 hours After breakfast, depart for Serengeti National Park via the breathtakingly scenic farmlands of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. As we leave the highlands behind, we descend into the heart of wild Africa—the Serengeti National Park, with its endless plains stretching away as far as the eye can see. Today, we’ll travel by road to the central area known as the Seronera region, one of the most wildlife-rich habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River that provides vital water resources to this location. We arrive in time for lunch and enjoy a full day exploring Serengeti National Park.
