SANDBOARDING ADVENTURE ON CERRO BLANCO SAND DUNE - NASCA

At 5 AM pickup from your hotel in Nazca and transfer by private transportation to the foot of the largest sand dune in the world. Located along the road to Cusco, right at the entrance to the high Andean plateau. This area was known among the ancients as "Yurak orqo" which translates to “White Mountain” in their native tongue; however its name has been translated into Spanish as Cerro Blanco with an elevation of approximately 6,840 feet above sea level. An approximate one hour drive takes us close to the edge of these massive sands before starting out three hour hike uphill while balancing ourselves upon our surfboards, munching on protein bars, slathering sunscreen all over our bodies, and drinking plenty of fluids so that when we finally make it to the peak there won’t be anything left inside except thirst! Ancient inhabitants of the Nazca region held great reverence for this site making various ornamental gifts within the confines of this vast expanse of golden grains. During midday temperatures range around 77°F - 82°F roughly between nine o’clock in the morning till two PM. By ten am sharp everyone arrives atop what seems like nothing else than pure aridity under bright blue skies filled with windswept clouds – yet offering breathtaking panoramic vistas across verdant valleys below stretching far beyond sight towards horizon line marking endlessness itself. There rests periods interspersed w/ snacks & briefings about proper technique required during descent down those towering slopes aboard makeshift snow sleds fashioned specifically designed exclusively meant solely purpose riding through powdery desert terrain only found herein nature’s grandest playground ever created–the majestic Cerro Blanco Dune complex!! HALF DAY BIKE ADVENTURE AROUND MISTI VOLCANO

We depart at either 8am or 1pm from our local office in Arequipa before boarding one of our supporting vehicles and driving approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes along an undulating serpenine dirt road with stunning views all round until dropping off near the foot hills of Machu Picchu Mountain. Our maximum altitude reached today is 3650 metres where lies 'Boques de Quenuas' Polylepis forest situated within the foothills of Waynapicchu Mountain; here there are incredible panoramic vistas across the whole Huatanay Valley including extensive Pre Inca agricultural terracing plus spectacular southerly views towards Volcan Misti(5825metres). Here your guide gives some essential information regarding trail useage & maintenance together with basic knowledge concerning both front and rear suspension systems fitted onto these specially designed touring bicycles... Your cycle journey begins by descending down through beautiful countryside via mixed terrain trails leading eventually back out onto loose stone chippings which lead right down to the very edge of the Urubamba River Gorge floor below! There follows approx half an hour’s steady descent followed immediately after that by another short climb up again but now over more open country side farmland interspersed between native woodland areas allowing plenty opportunities enroute to stop photographically capture many interesting sights such as farmers tending crops , llamas/alpacas herding etc.. Half Day Trek To Volcan Misti

At 8 AM or Noon (12 PM) all participants must be present at PERU ADVENTURE TOURS office (Calle Rivero 509 - Downtown). Those who are late or do not show up cannot receive refunds. First, we travel approximately one hour outside the city before taking a dirt and rough road along the sides of Volcan Misti rising to an elevation of 3440 meters; the route is exclusively passable with four wheel drive jeeps (not available via taxi or local buses)—finally arriving at the boundary line separating the metropolitan area from the National Reserve of Aguada Blanca y Salinas, home to both said active Volcano—recognized protector of the City of Arequipa known locally as “El Misti” meaning “the lord”. Our hike starts around 3440m above sea level using a tight winding mountain pathway that passes numerous Andeana shrubs, tiny ravines, forests made entirely of queñual trees Polylepis which serve as shelters for various bird species native to these regions such as hummingbirds falcons eagle woodpeckers among other avian life found here —as you continue climbing your legs may feel heavier due to lower levels of Oxygen once reaching altitudes near 3800meters . All hikers should aim to climb within three hours’ timeframe if they wish to exceed heights beyond 4000meter mark so they might catch glimpses of either Picochucho peak &ChachaniMountainor witness breathtaking sunsets overlookingArequipaValleyandCityscapefromabove.
