Fatima Sanctuary, half day trip from Lisbon

Fátima Sanctuary Tour Visit to the Sanctuary of Fatima, one of the largest Marian shrines in the world, which due to its power and mystical atmosphere, attracts millions of pilgrims every year. The main square is twice the size of St. Peter's Square in the Vatican and can accommodate more than 500,000 people. During our journey of approximately 90 minutes, we provide a brief explanation of the Apparitions of Fatima. Visit to the Sanctuary, a sacred site that attracts more than five million pilgrims every year. At the Sanctuary, you can visit the Chapel of the Apparitions, the “heart” of the Sanctuary of Fatima, where Our Lady spoke with the Little Shepherds—and the Basilica. You’ll also have the opportunity to light a candle. Free time in the sanctuary for prayer, should this be your intention. Our tour concludes in the village of Aljustrel, where you’ll visit the Shepherd’s Houses, birthplace and residence of Francisco and Jacinta Marto, and the house where Lucia was born and lived (the latter route may be subject to changes). End of the tour back at your hotel.

Do not miss tasting “travesseiros”, the local specialty pastries. Cape Roca: the westernmost tip of mainland Europe - Cape Roca offers an endless expanse of blue sky meeting the untamed waters of the Atlantic ocean. Cascais: After visiting the Guincho Beach area, drive down the coastal road towards Cascais, a chic seaside town featuring beautiful bays. Return back to Lisbon on the Avenida Marginal where you’ll see the biggest casino in all of Europe, located right next door to us here at Hotel Estoril. Enjoy breathtaking views stretching across the coastline between Cascais and Lisbon while listening to interesting facts shared by your knowledgeable guide.
