My name is Michele Arpa, and I am a licensed Italian tour guide who speaks English and Spanish. I am 63 years old and have been working as a tour guide in Campania, my home region, for over 10 years. I work mainly in Naples, offering guided tours of the historic center, the most popular neighborhoods, and the most important museums. I also guide tours in Pompeii, Herculaneum, the Villas of Stabia and Oplonti, the Royal Palace of Caserta, and the islands of the Gulf of Naples: Capri, Ischia, and Procida. I also organize guided tours to other less frequented sites upon request.

The National Archaeological Museum of Naples is a veritable treasure trove housing the art collection of the Farnese family, a prestigious Roman noble family, and artifacts excavated since 1738 in Pompeii and Herculaneum. King Charles III of Bourbon, who ordered the excavation, decided to display all the discoveries first in the Royal Palace of Portici and then in Naples, in the old university building. This incredible building houses some incredible treasures: from statues and mosaics to everyday objects, paintings, and gladiator weapons discovered in Pompeii. But the museum also houses many other incredible collections: Egyptian, Prehistoric, and Magna Graecia with its monumental vases from the 5th and 4th centuries BC. A place that will captivate you and keep you enthralled with the story of its treasures.
Herculaneum, the city of luxury destroyed by Vesuvius in the terrible eruption of 79 AD. Close to Vesuvius, it was destroyed first and covered by an avalanche of volcanic mud that buried it under 25 meters of depth. Its discovery in 1738 revealed a small city full of sophisticated dwellings and enormous wealth, discovered in the places and on the bodies of the victims in the port's warehouses, where in 1981 over 300 skeletons of victims who were trying to flee the city by boat were discovered. Our visit will take us along the streets that were the scene of the tragedy, into the houses, temples, and two beautiful museums where the boat discovered on the beach and the charred wood are on display, along with the luxurious jewelry and furnishings of the wealthy houses.
Let's visit the city of Pompeii, destroyed and buried by the terrible eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD. A journey into the past, walking along 2000-year-old streets, entering shops, baths, theaters, the majestic homes of the city's wealthy, and places of vice. We will see the casts of the victims of the eruption, one of the most moving moments of the visit, and, in the distance, the majestic volcano, Vesuvius, which destroyed all life around it in a single day. The visit includes the presence of a licensed guide for the entire duration of the tour. Wheelchair users can visit along a special route. Entrance tickets, food, drinks, transportation, and personal expenses are not included in the price of the tour.
