Stoomgemaal Halfweg

Stoomgemaal Halfweg is the world's oldest and largest working scoop-wheel pumping station. It was built in 1852 and was in public use until 1977. Eight weekends a year, the pumping station is open to the public and powered by steam. Its steam engine displaces 1.5 million litres of water per minute.
