LaMarinaBoat - cave experience

We depart from the Cala Ponte Marina tourist port in Polignano, where you’ll find private changing rooms and restrooms. You can also safely leave your luggage or strollers at the ticket office. Both before and after the tour, you can relax at the marina bar with a beautiful sea view. You’ll board a brand-new 7.5-meter motorboat with an awning for shade, a large wooden beach, and a convenient ladder for direct access to the sea. The tour, lasting approximately 2 hours and with a maximum capacity of 10 people, will take you through all the caves and lame (rocky cliffs) of Polignano, admiring the towering rocky coastline with its houses built overhanging the sea. You’ll see the Palazzese Cave, the beautiful Lama Monachile, the fascinating Hermit’s Rock, the seafront lookout, the characteristic Port’alga (seaweed port), the romantic Grotta dell’amore (Love’s Cave), and much more, including an aperitif and a dip. Please arrive 10 minutes before departure for check-in!

Our tours start from the Tourist Harbour in Cala Ponte, which has separate facilities like dressing rooms and toilets available exclusively for tourists. We have secure storage space near reception so you don’t need to worry about leaving behind bags or pushchairs either. Before and after each trip there’s plenty of time to unwind by the harbourside – enjoy some refreshments while taking in stunning views over the water. Your journey begins aboard one of our sleek new boats measuring around 7.5 metres long; they come equipped with awnings for sun protection, spacious decks made out of wood planks perfect for lounging, plus handy ladders leading directly down to swim whenever you feel like cooling off. Lasting roughly two hours but limited to ten passengers per boat, this excursion takes visitors past every single cave system along Polignano’s dramatic cliff faces adorned with homes perched precariously above crashing waves below. Highlights include spotting famous landmarks such as the iconic Palazzo Cave formation, breathtakingly scenic spots like Lama Monachile Beach, mysterious formations known locally as Eremo Rocks, panoramic viewpoints overlooking picturesque coastal townscapes complete with their own little ports filled up seaweed harvesting activity—and yes!—even stopping briefly during stops called “Grotta Dell’Amore” (“Cave Of Love”) amongst others… not forgetting refreshing drinks & snacks served mid-way round too!
