Kayaking Sumidero Canyon

Explore the imposing Sink Canyon in a unique way: Double kayaking! This experience will take you on a journey of approximately 14 km in total (about 3 hours of paddling) between majestic rock walls that rise over a thousand meters high. The tour includes the iconic Christmas Tree Waterfall, one of the most stunning landscapes in the Sumidero Canyon. On board a double kayak, you'll enjoy stability and comfort for long distances, making it perfect for sharing the adventure as a couple or with a partner. Throughout the trip, you'll be immersed in nature within a safe and serene environment. Your adventure is led by guides certified by British Canoeing, ensuring safety, enjoyment, and enrichment throughout the experience. A moderate level of fitness is recommended. Discover the grandeur of Sumidero Canyon from the water and live an authentic, unique, and unforgettable Chiapaneco adventure. **What to Expect** We will depart from our meeting point in Tuxtla Gutiérrez to reach the departure site, about an hour away by car. Please arrive no later than 5:45 AM. Our kayaking expedition begins beside the Chicoasén Dam. From there, we paddle approximately 7 km to the famous Christmas Tree Waterfall. Here, we'll pause briefly to capture memories using a GoPro camera provided free of charge as part of the experience. Afterward, we'll retrace our steps, rowing another 7 km back to the starting point. Once completed, we load all gear onto the van and head back to the original pickup spot.
