A visit to the Rubber Museum surrounded by nature.

A visit to the Seringal Museum in Manaus is a true history lesson and even an adventure. Illustrating the golden age of the Rubber Cycle, the space shows how people lived in the rubber plantations, both the colonels and the Northeasterners who arrived in the Amazonian capital to work with latex, many with their families. The tour begins at Marina do Davi where we board a regular speedboat that passes by several riverside communities. Along the way we can see school boats and even ambulances transporting vaccines and healthcare professionals. In the rubber baron's house, we found objects such as Chinese porcelain, a Stuttgart piano from 1900, Swiss clocks, and even equipment brought from Europe that was useless in Manaus – such as a stove used to heat the house in a place as hot as Manaus. The Ritual of Connection with the Amazon In the settings of the rubber soldier, work tools prevail, such as the gourd, machetes, and weapons – mainly for protection against the indigenous people. In the supply shed, all the products that could be acquired by the Northeasterners were available, after much work, of course. It was necessary to produce at least 50 kilos of rubber per week to be able to afford food. And in this way, the debt to the baron never ended. The tour lasts about 40 minutes and illustrates a part of the history of the rubber boom, in addition to preserving the setting of the film "The Jungle," the site offers a walk in the forest, where it is possible to see various species of medicinal herbs and some monkeys.
